Wade is an outstanding athlete with good football instincts who will earn time on the field again in 2010 after earning varsity letters each of his three three seasons. In 2009, Wade battled injuries to play in nine contests making four tackles. As a sophomore, in 2008 Wade solidified his place as one of the stalwarts on the Big Red squad, seeing action in all 10 games and starting six, including each of the last four. His coming out party occurred against Dartmouth, when he recorded career highs for tackles (nine) and pass breakups (three), while making one of the signature plays of the season by returning a blocked field goal 69 yards for a touchdown. For his performance, he was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll. Overall, Wade ranked second on the team in pass breakups with seven to go along with 37 total tackles, including 26 solo stops. He saw action in five games as a freshman in 2007, making a pair of tackles along the way en route to earning his first letter. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.

At East Aurora
Wade was a second-team all-state pick at defensive back who graduated with 14 school records at East Aurora HS, including season (16) and career touchdowns (22) as a slotback. An all-league scholastic pick as a senior, Wade scored 16 times in 2006, including nine times on the ground. He totaled 3,510 all-purpose yards in his three varsity seasons.

Personal
Andrew Walter Wade is the son of Tim and Leslie Wade and has an older brother. His father played football at Hudson Valley Community College and ice hockey at Brockport, while his uncle, Brian, played football at Ithaca College.
