Biography
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Competed in all seven dual meets as a rookie in the sprint freestyles.
• Placed third in the 50 free at Binghamton and in the 100 free against Brown.
Prior to Cornell
• Four-year MVP of the swimming and diving team at Fordham Preparatory School, serving as captain as a senior.
• Helped the team to a New York State Federation championship.
• Earned high School All-America honors as part of the school's 200 free relay team.
• Was part of a team that won every competition the team entered over his four seasons.
• Finished fifth in the state in the 50 free, seventh in the 100 free and first as the lead-off leg of the 200 and 400 free relays.
Personal
• Michael Thomas Verini is the son of Thomas and Anne Marie Verini and has an older sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
