As a Sophomore (2019-20)
• Ran in three indoor meets.
• Finished second in the 1000 at the Sunday Invite (2/16).
• Placed fifth in the DMR at Indoor Heps (2/29-3/1).
As a Freshman (2018-19)
• Ran in four outdoor meets.
• Completed a fifth place finish with a PR time of 3:51.71 in the 1500m at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational (4/6).
• Finished the 5000m race with an 18th-place finish and a PR time of 15:16.26 at the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships (5/4-5).
• Ran in five indoor meets.
• Earned six top-five finishes out of seven competitions, including a third place finish in the 1000m with a PR time of 2:32.06 at the Cornell Upstate Challenge (1/18-19).
• Also finished with a PR in the mile at the Sykes and Sabock Challenge Cup on Feb. 2 (4:14.32).
• Executed a fifth place finish in the 3000m and the DMR at the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships, meanwhile earning a PR time of 8:17.81 in the 3000m (2/23-24).
• Ran in five cross country meets.
• Opened the season with a 6k PR of 19:05.2 and a sixth place finish at the Bison Open on Aug. 31.
• Earned a second PR with the 8k at the Princeton Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 12 with a time of 24:57.9.
• Finished the season with a 43rd finish at the Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonal Championships on Oct. 27.
• Broke the indoor freshman record for the 3000.
Before Cornell
• Fusco was a four-time letterwinner in cross country and track and field at Somers Senior High School, where he captained both squads his junior and senior seasons.
• Earned all-league honors nine times, all-county nine times, all-section seven times, all-state six times, all-federation five times and winning four county championships and six sectional championships.
• In addition to being a three-time county champion, Fusco was named All-Westchester County 17 times.
• He qualified for nine state meets and four national championship meets.
• Personal bests: 4:12.54 for 1600m, 9:04.56 for 3200m, and 15:43.40 for the 5000m in cross country.
• Named to school’s high honor roll.
Personal
• Gregory M. Fusco is the son of Alexander and Janet Fusco.
• His older brother, Alexander, was a 2016 graduate from Cornell, while his twin brother, Matt, is also a member of the Big Red cross country and track and field teams.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
