As a Sophomore (2018-19)

• Did not compete in any outdoor meets.
• Ran in one indoor meet.
• Finished fifth in the 3000m with a PR of 9:01.66 at the Cornell Upstate Challenge on Jan. 18-19.
• Ran in five cross country meets.
• Opened the season with a 6k PR of 20:37.5 at the Bison Open on Aug. 31.
• Finished 15th in the 5k at the John Reif Memorial Run held in Ithaca on Oct. 19 with a time of 16:40.8.

As a Freshman (2017-18)

• Did not compete in any track meets.
• During freshman cross country campaign, ran in four meets starting with a 32nd-place finish at the quad meet with Columbia, Brown and NYU.
• Went on to take 96th in the open race at the Paul Short Run and 103rd at the Penn State National Open.
• Closed out season at the Reif Memorial Run, finishing an impressive seventh overall.

Before Cornell

• No stranger to the Ithaca running community, Avery qualified for the NY state meet in the 800, 1600 and XC during his career at Ithaca High School.
• He was an outstanding competitor, teammate and runner for the Little Red and feel he fits in great with the class we have brought in to be a part of the Big Red.

Personal

• Avery is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
