Took 5th in the 8k, running it in 25:03.4 minutes at the 2023 Yellowjacket XC Invitational … set a personal best at the XC23 College & Open, running the 8k in 24:31.5 minutes … placed 53rd and set a personal best at the NCAA Division I Northeast Region Cross Country Championships, with a 30:40.3-minute 10k.
2022-23 I SOPHOMORE SEASON
Placed 22nd in the 6.4k with a 21:18.0 minute run at the Harry Lang Invitational… took 13th in the 4.97M at the Fordham Fiasco, running it in 27:22.5 minutes… earned 27th in the 8k with a 25:21.7 minute run at the LHU XC Invitational/ Open… finished 72nd in the 8k with a 26:35.3 minute run at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships… set a personal best in the 8k with a 24:55.4 minute run at Lehigh Paul Short Run (College).
2021-22 I FRESHMAN SEASON
Ran in three events, running a season-best 25:15.6 for 18th at the Paul Short White 8K race… took 56th at Heps with a 25:46.9.
PRIOR TO CORNELL
Two-time state team champion in 2018 and 2019… earned All-American honors in the indoor 5K in 2021… finished third at the state meet in 2019.
PERSONAL
Jake Rocco Gelfand is the son of Christina Morganti and Jeffrey Gelfand… has one brother, Kasey, who runs for Vermont and two sisters, Angela and Francesca.
