2022-23 I JUNIOR SEASON
Placed 109th in the 10k at the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships, running it in 30:19.0 minutes… set a personal best in the 10k, running it in 29:44.3 minutes and placing 10th at the NCAA Division 1 Northeast Region Cross Country Championships… earned a fifth-place finish in the 8k at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships, running it in 24:16.4 minutes… took second in the 8k at the IC4A/ECAC XC Championship, running it in 24:02.7 minutes… recorded a PR in the 8k, running it in 23:34.8 minutes and placing 40th at Lehigh Paul Short Run (College).

2021-22 I SOPHOMORE SEASON
Opened the season at Paul Short's open race where he finished 20th with a 25:16.8…  Ran an 8K PR of 25:04.2 at Heps where he finished 31st… clocked a 10K PR of 32:21.8 at NCAA Northeast Regionals for a 77th place finish. 
 
2020-21 I FRESHMAN SEASON
Season cancelled due to COVID-19.

PRIOR TO CORNELL
Five-time CIAC Class M State Champion, winning titles in the 1000-meter, 4x400-meter relay, and sprint medley relay… crowned the 2020 New England Champion and 2020 CIAC State Open Champion in the 1000-meter… named The Day All-Area Indoor Track Athlete of the Year in 2020… two-time All-New England Indoor Track & Field selection… seven-time All-Eastern Connecticut Conference performer… named a 2020 CAS Scholar Athlete, given to one boy and one girl in each Connecticut high school… served as team captain of Stonington High School's cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field teams… played four years of soccer for Stonington, earning three letters on defense.

PERSONAL
Rhys Evan Hammond is the son of Dave and Sue Hammond… has a younger brother… he is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
