As a Senior (2011-12)
Lavin finished his Big Red career by competing in three tournaments. He averaged an 83.9 in his seven rounds. At the Big Red Invitational in September, Lavin had his season-low round of 79. He also competed in the Northeast Intercollegiate in October and the Century Intercollegiate in April, ending his Cornell career with a two-round score of 170.

At Cornell
Lavin posted a season-low average of 79.40 as a junior in 2010-11 while competing in two tournaments. He consistently played each of five rounds between 77 and 81. As a sophomore, Lavin played in five total rounds, including a top 20 individual finish at the Cornell Fall Invitational. He shot a career-best 74 in the first round on his home course. For the season, Lavin averaged an 82.20 in his five competitive rounds. Lavin played in four tournaments for a total of seven rounds during 2008-09, posting a season-low 77 in the second round of the Towson Lacrosse Homes Intercollegiate tournament. Lavin's per round average was 84.71 during his rookie campaign.

At Highland Park HS
Lavin was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-county golfer at Highland Park HS. The team captain as a senior, he was the IJGA scoring average leader in 2006 and was the Player of the Year runner-up. He had a pair of AJGA top 15 finishes in 2007, including at the Midwest Championship. Lavin also competed for the track and field team in the pole vault and the sprints.

Personal
Alexander Dameron Lavin is the son of Steven and Dawn Lavin and has a brother. He is enrolled in the School of Engineering.
