2015-16 Men's Golf Roster
Biography
Senior Season — 2015-16
Eng finished fourth on the team with a scoring average of 76.81, which marked the best season of his four-year career. For a second straight year, he finished in the top 10 at the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge. Eng then came in third place at the Cornell Spring South Florida Invitational, where he carded a career-low round of 3-under-par 69 in the second round to help the Big Red to the team title. While he struggled in the first two days of the Ivy League Championships, Eng rebounded to turn in the Big Red's low score in the third round — a 75 — to help the team finish fourth in the event.
Junior Season — 2014-15
Among regular competitors, Eng finished fourth in team scoring with a 79.53 scoring average. He carded a 2-under 70 in the first round of The Quechee Club Invitational, which was his first collegiate round under par and landed him in a tie for third place. After second-day 75, he finished eighth in the tournament. The following week, he tied for 24th at the Temple Invitational — which was tied with Jeremy Paton for the team's best finish in the event.
Sophomore Season — 2013-14
Eng once again competed in all seven of the team's stroke-play events, finishing fifth on the team with a scoring average of 78.7 — almost a full shot better than his freshman season. His low round of the season was a 2-over-par 72 in the second round of the Ivy League Championships on the famed Lower Course at Baltusrol Golf Club. Eng also had a pair of 73s in the middle rounds of The MacDonald Cup in the fall and the Princeton Invitational in the spring.
Freshman Season — 2012-13
The lone freshman to see tournament action outside of the Cornell Fall Invitational, Eng finished the season ranked fourth on the team in scoring average (79.5). He competed in all seven stroke-play events, as well as the Ivy League Match Play, improving along the way. After having four of his scores discarded in the first three tournaments, Eng's scores counted toward the team total in eight of his 10 spring rounds. His low round of the season was a 1-over-par 72 at Springdale Golf Club in the first round of the Princeton Invitational.
Prior to Cornell
Eng served as the captain of both his volleyball and golf teams at Walt Whitman HS. He was named The Gazette's Player of the Year for golf after the 2011 season, recording Montgomery County's best scoring average that season. He went on to finish third in the state high school championships that season. Earlier that summer, he won the CAGT Potomac Open, took 12th at the AJGA Rochester Open, placed 18th at the PGA Junior Series tournament in Kentucky and finished 19th in the Maryland State Junior Championships.
