Biography
At Cornell
As a junior in 2009-10, Heymont was in the lineup for two tournaments, placing 34th at the Cornell Fall Invitational (fourth on the team). Heymont tied career lows of 77 in both rounds at the home tournament. He also started for the Big Red at the Big 5 Invitational. Heymont became a regular contributor to the lineup as a sophomore in 2008-09, playing in five tournaments for a total of eight rounds. He shot a career-low 77 in the second round of the Navy Invitational to open the 2008-09 campaign. For the year, he had a stroke average of 82.13. As a freshman, Heymont saw action on the "B" team at the Cornell Invitational, shooting a low round of 78 in the first round en route to a total of 241.
At Campbell Hall HS
Heymont was a four-time first-team all-league golfer at Campbell Hall HS, helping guide his team to four straight Alpha League titles. He was the CIF individual runner-up in 2005 and served as team captain during his senior season.
Personal
Lawrence Hale Heymont is the son of Bruce and Lynn Heymont. His mother is a 1973 graduate of Cornell and his grandfather played professional baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
