Junior Season — 2016-17
Gilbaugh competed with the Cornell 'B' team at the Cornell Invitational, where he finished 79th individually.

Sophomore Season — 2015-16
Gilbaugh's lone appearance came as a member of the Big Red's 'B' team at the Cornell Invitational in September. He turned in an even-par 71 in the second round and eventually finished 57th overall. His scoring average over three rounds was 78.67.

Freshman Season — 2014-15
Gilbaugh appeared in four tournaments, twice competing in the team portion of the competitions in the fall. He was tied for 46th at the Cornell Invitational, when he carded the Big Red's second-best score in both the first and second rounds. Other than a 15th-place finish at the limited-field RTJ Individual Shootout in the spring, Gilbaught best finish was 43rd after a pair of 78s at the Temple Invitational. His scoring average was 81.22 across nine rounds.

Prior to Cornell
Gilbaugh was part of a powerhouse high school program, which won three consecutive state titles from 2012 to 2014. He was award first-team all-city honors in each of those seasons and also competed at the varsity level as a freshman. He went on to finish third in June's Kansas Junior Amateur, shooting a 6-under-par 66 in the first round.

Personal
Matthew Gilbaugh is the son of Jay and Cherie Gilbaugh, and he has a sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
