Cornell University Athletics

As a junior (2018-19)

• Competed in all nine of season's events, with 16 of 24 rounds counting toward team score.
• Recorded scoring average of 77.08 (plus-6.4), which ranked fifth among regular competitors.
• Third collegiate career top-10 finish in full-field events came in Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge, taking 10th place with a 74-73–147. 
• Both of season's under-par rounds came in first two tournaments — 1-under-par 71 in the final round at Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational and 1-under-par 70 to open Cornell Invitational.

As a sophomore (2017-18)

• Competed in all of team's 20 tournament rounds with a pair of 1-under-par 71s in Colgate's Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational and Connecticut Cup.
• Scoring average of 78.25 (plus-8.2).
• Best full-field finish was 21st at season-opening event at Colgate.

As a freshman (2016-17)

• Instant contributor in collegiate debut, appearing in all of team's 21 competitive rounds.
• Had team's best round of season relative to par, carding 4-under-par 68 in second round of Colgate's Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational.
• Went on to finish eighth individually at Colgate — a finish matched later in the fall at the Connecticut Cup.
• Final-round 72 at Cornell Invitational was pivotal in helping Cornell capture team title.
• Best spring finish came at Ivy League Championship, placing 29th.
• Scoring average of 76.62 (plus-5.1), ranked fifth on team. 

Prior to Cornell

• Medalist in New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Section III championship in both 2015 and 2016.
• Competed on Section III squad in 2014, 2015 and 2016 at NYSPHSAA championship event, hosted annually by the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell.
• Four-time All-Central New York Counties League first team selection in final four of six years competing on Auburn HS varsity squad.
• Also had pair of top-five and two more top-10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association events in 2015.
• Member of National Honor Society and two-time class vice president.

Personal

• Michael David May is the son of Michael and Lynn May, and he has a younger sister.
• Mother is a Cornell graduate. Cousin, David May, competed for four years on Clemson's golf team.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
