Biography
At Cornell
Before suffering an injury that kept him out the rest of the season, Murphy played in the main lineup for the first two tournaments, posting an average of 77.75, including a low of 75 in the first round at St. Bonaventure. Three of his four rounds were played in the 70s. Murphy played in four tournaments for the Big Red in 2008-09, seeing action in a total of six rounds. He posted a season-low score of 79 in three different rounds. Murphy scored a cumulative average of 80.83.
At Fairfield Prep
Murphy was a two-time all-state golfer at Fairfield Prep who led his team to four consecutive conference championships. He played in the No. 1 position all four seasons, earning varsity letters each year.

Timothy John Murphy is the son of Jack Murphy and has a younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
