• Sixth on the team in tackles (37) while adding a team-best 10.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks in nine contests at linebacker (five starts).
• Ranked fifth in tackles for loss in the Ivy League (89th nationally).
• Had at least one tackle for loss in each of his final nine career games.
• Had three tackles in the season-opening win at Marist.
• Credited with four tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, at Ivy preseason favorite Yale in his first collegiate start.

• Had three tackles and recovered a fumble in the win over Sacred Heart.
• Made a pair of stops at No. 17 Colgate.
• Had a career-best four stops with a tackle for loss at No. 17 Princeton.
• Posted three tackles and broke up a pass against Penn.

As a sophomore (2017)

• Played in nine contests, primarily on special teams.
• Had a tackle in 2017 opener at Delaware.
• Saw special teams action in the Ivy League opener at Yale, earning the Big Red’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
 

As a freshman (2016)

• Played three contests on special teams, making his varsity debut against Sacred Heart.
• Made first career tackle on special teams at Brown.
• Spent much of the second half of the season on the travel roster with the varsity in 2016.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Leary was a two-time all-league selection and a all-city and all-district pick as a senior at C.E. Byrd HS.
• He was named honorable mention all-state as a senior after on the defensive line, posting 30 tackles with 14.0 for a loss and 7.0 sacks while breaking up seven passes and recovering a fumble.
• He was part of three district champion teams and a state runner-up squad as a sophomore.
• As a junior running back, Leary rushed for 490 yards and four touchdowns.
• Leary also competed in the sprints for his track team.
 

Personal

• Malik Kontrell Leary is the son of Artis and Felisa Leary and has an older brother and younger sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
