Biography

Hornibrook on Graeff: “Sophie has gained valuable experience playing for one of the top clubs in the country. She is a solid defender and has really impressed us with her commitment to raising her game. We are looking for good things to come.”
 
Prior to Cornell
Graeff earned four varsity letters at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, helping the team to a No. 1 ranking in the country during the 2013 season as the squad won the Inter-Ac and PAISSA Championships. She helped the team to a second place PAISSA finish in 2012 and 2014, and an Inter-Ac Co-Championship in 2012. Graeff was named the team’s Most Improved player as a sophomore and earned a pair of second-team All-Main Line selections as a junior and senior. As a senior, she was named second-team All-Inter-Ac, honorable mention All-Delco, and was selected to the NFHCA High School National Academic Squad. Graeff also played with the WC Eagles field hockey club and was a 2012 National Futures participant as well as a 2013 U-19 National Festival participant. She played in three Disney Showcase tournaments, helping the team to a second place finish in the 2014 U-19 Mickey Flight. Graeff also earned a pair of second place finishes at the U-16 NIT in 2013 and the U-19 NIT in 2014. Graeff was also a four year letter winner in track and field.
 
Personal
Sophie Taylor Graeff is the daughter of Paul and Bereth Graeff and she one younger brother and one younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
