Prior to Cornell
Lavitt played three seasons of polo and was a four-year member of the squash team at the Millbrook School. A two-year starter in squash, he was the team most valuable player as a senior.

Tate Harris Lavitt is the son of Jed Lavitt and Paula White-Lavitt and has a twin sister. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
