Prior to Cornell
Loftus was a four-year member of the ski team at Fayetteville-Manlius HS, serving as team captain in 2008.

Jon Carter Loftus is the son of Jon and Taylor Loftus and has an older brother and sister. His sister, Elizabeth, attended Cornell. His brother, David, competed on the Alpine Ski Team at Boston College. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
