Biography
As a freshman (2019-20)
• Coxed the winning 4+ boat in Flight 2 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, posting a time of 12:54.35.
• Guided the Big Red frosh novice boat to a second place finish in Flight 1 at the Cornell Autumn Classic with a time of 12:11.25.
• Coxed the frosh novice boat in Flight 2 at the Princeton Chase, helping the group finish the race in 15:20.657.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
Prior to Cornell
• Three-year letterman on the rowing team at the Pine Crest School.
• Helped Pine Crest’s varsity eight to a third place finish at the 2019 Florida State Championship, securing the team’s first varsity eight medal at states in 15 years.
• Guided the varsity eight to a 10th place finish in its first-ever appearance at the 2019 SRAA Nationals.
• Helped Pine Crest’s varsity four to victory at the 2019 Miami International Regatta.
• Also played three years of tennis at Pine Crest, serving as team captain in 2019.
Personal
• Amanda Michelle Klafter is the daughter of David and Melissa Klafter and has one younger brother.
• Her uncle, Robert Klafter, was a coxswain on the men’s lightweight rowing team at Penn from 1986-90.
• She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
