Biography

At Cornell
As a freshman (2015-16) 

• Rowed in the fifth varsity eight that took the gold medal at the 2016 Eastern Sprints.
• Helped Cornell earn the Leonard Cup with a win over Penn and Harvard, as well as posting a victory over Princeton.

Prior to Cornell
• Rowed for five years as a member of the Green Lake Crew.
• Competed twice in the Thames Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta.
• Won a gold medal in the men’s varsity four with coxswain at the 2012, 2014, and 2015 USRowing Northwest Regional Championships.
• Also took home a gold medal in the men’s varsity eight at the 2014 USRowing Northwest Regional Championships, before finishing ninth overall in that same crew at the 2014 USRowing Youth Nationals.
• Helped the men’s youth eight crew take a 10th place finish at the 2014 Head of the Charles
 
Personal
• Andrew Duggan Broom is the son of Randall and Maureen Broom and he has two younger brothers.
• His grandfather, Dave Broom, played tennis for the University of Washington from 1956-60.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
