At Ithaca HS
Oswald swam for seven years at Ithaca high school, serving as team captain during his senior season. During the 2000-01 season, he went undefeated in dual-meet competition.

Benjamin Bamberger Oswald is the son of Robert Oswald and Michelle Bamberger and he has one younger brother. His mother graduated from Cornell and his father is a professor on East Hill. Oswald is enrolled in the College of Engineering
