Biography
At Cornell
As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Consistent member of the fifth varsity eight throughout his junior season.
• Helped row the crew to a fourth-place finish in the Grand Final at the 2017 EARC Sprints.
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Mayro did not compete during his freshman season.
Prior to Cornell
• Earned three varsity letters in rowing at Christian Brothers Academy, serving at team captain as a senior.
• As a senior rowing in the men’s lightweight four with coxswain, he earned a pair of silver medals at the 2015 Garden State Scholastic Championship, and the 2015 Philadelphia City Championship, before taking sixth place at the 2015 SRAA National Championships.
• In 2014, Mayro won a silver medal in the men’s youth lightweight eight at the USRowing Mid-Atlantic Junior Regionals.
• Also won silver medals in the men’s lightweight eight at the 2014 Garden State Scholastic Championship and the 2014 Philadelphia City Championship.
Personal
• Christopher William Mayro is the son of Aldo and Valerie Mayro and he has one older brother.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
