Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Member of the Big Red’s lightweight four at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, helping the boat place sixth among 16 boats in 16:18.277.
• Rowed on the second varsity eight that placed eighth out of 30 boats in Flight 1 at the Princeton Chase with a time of 13:35.915.
• Competed on the Cornell A 4+ boat in Flight 1 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, clocking a time of 13:24.08.
• Rowed on the Cornell B 8+ boat in Flight 2 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, recording a time of 12:00.60.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Rowed with the second varsity eight during his freshman year.
• Led the second varsity eight to a gold medal at the EARC sprints with a time of 6:42.95.
• Won the Petite Final with the varsity 4- at the IRA National Championship.
• Guided the second varsity eight to victories over Dartmouth, Princeton, and Columbia.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed on the varsity crew team at Belmont Hill for four years.
• Gold medal in the boys fourth 4+ at the 2016 NEIRA Championship Regatta.
• Won silver in the boys first 4+ at the 2018 NEIRA Championship Regatta.
• Earned a bronze medal in the boys first 4+ at the 2017 NEIRA Championship Regatta.
• Finished with a silver medal in the men's youth 4+ at the 2018 Youth National Championships.
• Ran cross country and played ice hockey at Belmont Hill School.
Personal
• Eric Ryan Whitehead is the son of Richard Whitehead and Kathy Gardner and he has one sister.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
