Biography
At Cornell
Junior (2015-16): Imsdahl rowed in the fourth varsity eight that took the bronze medal at the 2016 Eastern Sprints. During the season, he helped Cornell earn the Leonard Cup with a win over Penn and Harvard, as well as posting victories over Princeton and Yale.
Sophomore (2014-15):Â During his sophomore season, Imsdahl won a gold medal as the stroke of the fourth varsity eight at the 2015 EARC Sprints.Â
Freshman (2013-14):Â In his first season with the Big Red, Imsdahl rowed in the freshmen eight boat that took the bronze medal at the 2014 Eastern Sprints and helped the Big Red to earn its first Jope Cup since 2008. Â
Prior to Cornell
Imsdahl won the lightweight single at the 2012 International Regatta in Cologne, after winning both the single and double at the 2011 Bremen Regatta. At the 2012 German National Championship he placed fourth place in both the straight four and the eight. The following year at that Championship, he took third and fifth place in the lightweight straight four and the eight, respectively. Imsdahl also competed at the 2011 Head of the Thames, placing 105th out of 400 crews.
Personal
Olav Arthur Imsdahl is the son of Peter and Ingrid Imsdahl and he has two older sisters and two older brothers. His sisters, Marit and Solveig, were members of the Big Red women’s rowing team, while his brothers, Lars and Thor, rowed for MIT and Princeton, respectively. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
