Biography
At Cornell
A two-time letter winner, Fort was a member of Cornell’s 2008 Ivy League championship lightweight varsity-8 and was named first-team All-Ivy as a result. He is a gifted athlete and an extremely driven individual both in and out of the boat.
At Ransom Everglades HS
Fort rowed for four years at Ransom Everglades high school, where he stroked the crew. He was also a member of the Miami Rowing Club.
Personal
Raymond August Fort is the son of Bernardo Fort and Laurinda Spear and he has two older brothers, two younger brothers and one older sister. Fort’s family is entrenched in the Ancient Eight with his father and mother graduating from Princeton and Brown, respectively, while all four of his college-aged siblings attend Ivy League schools. His older brother Nicholas played water polo for Brown, while his younger brother Harold rows for the Big Red. Likewise, his aunt Alison Spear is a 1982 graduate of Cornell. Fort is enrolled in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.
