Biography
As a senior (2018)
• Appeared in all 15 contests as either a forward or in the midfield, starting in all but two games.
• Logged 997 minutes, which was highest on the team among players that didn't spend any time on the back line.
• Led team with 22 services on corner kicks.
• One of those corner kicks led to an assist on Evanthia Spyredes' goal Oct. 21 at Brown.
As a junior (2017)
• Appeared in all 14 contests as reserve midfielder, leading team with 13 shots.
• Four shots required saves from opposing goalkeepers.
• Ranked third on team with eight services on corner kicks.
As a sophomore (2016)
• Competed in all of team's contests for second straight season.
• Started half of team's 16 games as one of the oft-used central midfielders.
• Though did not factor into scoring, 11 shots toward goal was sixth-highest on the team.
As a freshman (2015)
• Made an immediate impact, starting in 13 and appearing all of the team's 17 games.
• Finished tied for fourth in team scoring with one goal and two assists for four points.
• Scored first collegiate goal on Sept. 6 in 2-0 victory against Akron at the Alumni Classic, hosted by St. Bonaventure.
• First assist set up Tess Pullano for only goal Sept. 17 at Seton Hall
• Second assist teed up Meera Marhoefer for Sept. 27 strike at Wagner.
• Appeared both as in midfield and at forward.
Prior to Cornell
• Oregon 3A Player of the Year in both 2013 and 2014, helping lead Oregon Episcopal School to state titles in 2011, 2013 and 2014.
• Named league’s player of the year.
• Served as captain during junior and senior seasons.
• Competing on club level with FC Portland in the Elite Clubs National League
• Helped squad to U.S. Club Soccer national finals in 2012, National Premier League Championships semifinal in 2013 and state championship in 2014.
• Also played lacrosse and basketball for four years at OES.
Personal
• Carolyn Elizabeth Ruoff is the daughter of Kenneth Ruoff and Jean Linscott, and she has a younger brother and a younger sister.
• Several aunts and uncles have attended Cornell, as have two cousins.
• Uncle, Steve Ruoff, also played soccer for the Big Red, and two grandparents taught at Cornell.
• Enrolled in the College of Engineering.
