Keith Comfort is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Cornell men's and women's soccer programs.
Comfort works with both the men's and women's teams, boasting a wealth of experience at the collegiate level. A former collegiate head coach, he most recently worked as a goalkeeper coach for the men's program at Colgate University from 1999 through 2005.
A three-year varsity starter and two-year first-team all-league selection, Comfort also earned Division II All-American honors during his playing career as a goalkeeper at the University of California-Davis, where he graduated in 1984. Following graduation, he was named the head coach of the women's team at UC-Davis in September 1985, where he coached through the end of the 1988 season.
Comfort earned a master's degree in education at the University of Colorado in 1993 and was a teacher and coach at Greeley Central High School from 1993 through 1998 when he moved to Central New York, taking a position at Jamesville-Dewitt High School. He served as the head coach at Fayetteville-Manlius High School from 2001 through 2003 and was a goalkeeper coach for the Colgate men from 1999 through 2005. In 2005, he began a five-year tenure as an assistant coach for the boy's program at Fayetteville-Manlius.
