E-mail Coach Fuller (ntf2@cornell.edu)

Nathan Fuller `00, a former All-Ivy midfielder for the Big Red, has returned to Cornell to join head coach Bryan Scales and the men[apos]s soccer team as an assistant coach for the 2004 season. A volunteer assistant coach for the squad in 2000 and 2002, Fuller replaces another former Big Red standout, Rob Elliott [apos]97, who served as an assistant for six years. An outstanding central midfielder for Cornell from 1996-99, Fuller captained the Big Red to a second-place finish in the Ivy League (5-2) and an 11-6 overall record in his senior season. He was an All-Ivy selection as a junior and senior and was an All-New York region member in 1999. [quote]We are thrilled to have Nate back in the program,[quote] said Scales. [quote]His six years of quality service to the program, four as a player (1996-99) and two as an assistant coach (2000, 2002) gave me a great indication of his potential. Nate is a rising young coach and I know that he will make a positive impact on Cornell soccer both on and off the field.[quote] Fuller has been a member of a pair of semi-professional teams, playing with the Salem Surge of the USISL in 1997 before serving as captain of the Finger Lakes Desperados of the PDL. In 1998, he served as head coach of the U-16 West Linn soccer club team in Lake Oswego, Ore., training the team to compete in college showcase tournaments. In 2003, he served as co-director of Cornell men[apos]s soccer summer camps, where he designed and coordinated training sessions and supervised coaches, staff and campers. Nathan[apos]s older brother, Garth, was a central midfielder on Cornell[apos]s 1995 Ivy League championship team and his younger brother, Ian, reached the 2002 MLS title game playing for the New England Revolution and currently suits up for the Rochester Rhinos of the A-League. His sister, Carly, was a standout at Duke University and Cal-Berkeley before joining the W-League after graduation. A native of Portland, Ore., and a former player for FC Portland Academy, Fuller was a two-time all-state selection and played for Oregon[apos]s ODP team from 1992-96. He graduated from Cornell in 2002 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in general studies with a self-designed curriculum focusing on government and natural resource management.
