Scott Caldwell, entering his second year as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer team, saw the team post an 8-5-4 mark on the season. The Big Red had four players named to All-Ivy teams, an Ivy League Player of the Year, and earned the NSCAA’s Team Academic Award for the sixth straight year for their combined GPA of 3.23.

Caldwell is a former Big Red soccer player for four seasons joined the men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in January 2013.

Since graduating from Cornell in 2012, Caldwell was an assistant at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. The Nor'Easters, a Division III team in the Commonwealth Coast Conference, had one player named to the All-Conference First Team and one get Honorable Mention honors.
 
Caldwell began his Cornell career as a freshman in the fall of 2007, earning two assists as a midfielder. He then had two goals in his sophomore season and seven points as a junior before missing the entirety of his senior year due to injury.
 
Returning for a fifth year in 2011, Caldwell was a vital member of the Big Red midfield yet again, playing in 14 games and picking up an assist. He helped Cornell to a gigantic turnaround and an 8-2-6 record that season.
