T.J. Love

T.J. Love is entering his sixth season as an assistant coach with the Cornell men's soccer program in 2015.  A native of the Southern Tier of New York, Love brings a wealth of knowledge of the soccer community to the coaching staff of the Big Red.

In 2014, the team had its fourth consecutive season above .500, going 10-6-1. The Big Red tied a program record, allowing just 11 goals on the season, and set a new record for clean sheets with 11. The Class of 2015 had four players named to All-Ivy teams and posted the second-most wins (41) of any senior class in program history.

The team went 8-5-4 in 2013 and saw five players named to All-Ivy teams, an Ivy League Player of the Year, and the NSCAA’s Team Academic Award.

In 2012, the team won its first outright Ivy League championship since 1977. Love helped coach the team to a 15-2 record and a 6-1 mark among conference foes while it earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996.

The change in Cornell men's soccer culture was evident before that, though, as the team went 8-2-6 in 2011 after finishing without an Ivy League victory in 2010. Love was a consistent part of that improvement, coaching as the Big Red was represented on the All-Ivy First Team by four players in 2012.

Love, a former player and team captain at Daemen College from 2003-04, spent the 2009 season as an assistant coach at Elmira College, where he earned a master's degree in education. Love has extensive experience coaching club soccer in the Southern Tier of New York while also having coached at various high schools around the area.

A native of Watkins Glen, N.Y., Love has a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and his USSF "C" License.
