As a Senior (2014)With the significant attrition on the backline from 2013 to 2014, the Brooklyn native made the selfless decision to shift from his forward role to center back in order to offset the losses. That team-first attitude and dedication to his craft is the perfect embodiment of Morgan's career on East Hill. His hard work on and off the field enabled him to rise from sophomore walk-on in 2012 to a mainstay on the Cornell backend in 2014. His ability to step up in an entirely new role was paramount in the Big Red's prowess in the defensive third this season. He also got into the act offensively, marking a new career-high with three goals, including game-winners in consecutive games against Hartwick and Buffalo. He was named a Second Team All-Ivy selection at season’s end.
As a Junior (2013)Morgan was a key part of Cornell's offense, particularly on throw-ins, during his junior campaign. His throws in the attacking third often found the middle of the box and generated veritable scoring opportunities for his teammates. Morgan tallied the team's first goal of the season against Detroit Mercy on Sept. 6, helping the team to a 1-1 tie. He picked up an assist against Buffalo on Sept. 27, when his long throw was headed in by Patrick Slogic for the game-winning goal. In total, Morgan took 11 shots in 2013; four on goal.Â
As a Sophomore (2012)Morgan, a walk-on to the Cornell roster, played in six games during his sophomore year and started as a forward against Princeton on Oct. 27. He took one shot during the year.
