As a Sophomore (2016)
Putko did not see any action during the 2016 season.

As a Freshman (2015)
Putko appeared and started in three games as a freshman.

Before Cornell
Putko was a 2014 Founders League All Star at the Taft School in Watertown, Conn. and a 2012 Dual County League All Star at Westford Academy in Massachusetts. Putko’s U16 and U17 teams for Benefica USA in Westford were Massachusetts State Cup finalists. In addition to soccer, Putko competed at the varsity level in hockey for four years and track for two. He holds records at The Taft School in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Personal
James Mark Putko is the son of Christopher and Michele Putko, both graduates of the United States Military Academy. Two of Putko's older brothers played college soccer: Bobby played for Cornell and graduated in 2008 and Chris played for Georgetown and graduated in 2007. Putko is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
