A three-time All-Ivy honoree, Lynch battled injuries for much of his senior season, but still recorded Honorable Mention All-Ivy League accolades for his play. He started all 12 games that he played in as a senior, making his season debut on Sept. 16 against Buffalo. Lynch also earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District I Second Team. Lynch earned second-team All-Ivy honors as a junior after anchoring a stingy Big Red defense that allowed just 16 goals in 15 games. Lynch started all 15 games and tied for the team lead with a pair of goals, while his four points were also tied for the team best. Lynch added the game-winning goal against Yale on Oct. 13, while also scoring the team’s first goal of the season against Fairfield on Sept. 1. Lynch moved into a leadership role on the back line as a sophomore, earning honorable mention all-league honors after starting all 14 games and scoring a pair of goals. He appeared in nine games during his freshman season, starting eight times.
 
At Chantilly HS
A four-year letter winner at Chantilly HS, Lynch was a two-time all-district and all-region selection and served as captain of his team as a senior. Chantilly was the state runner-up during his freshman season and the team earned the district championship in 2001. His club team, Herndon Arsenal, reached the finals of the National Capital Soccer League in back-to-back seasons and claimed the title in 2003. The squad also appeared in the Virginia State Cup semifinals in 2003 and 2004.  

Personal
Kyle Daniel Lynch is the son of Michael and Deborah Lynch. He is enrolled in Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and he has an older brother.
