As a Senior (2016)
Crotty did not appear in any contests as a senior due to injury.

As a Junior (2015)
After missing all of his sophomore season due to injury, Crotty returned to the lineup in fine form, earning Second-Team All-Ivy honors for his performance at center back. Crotty used his size to his advantage, consistently beating opponents in the air and shutting down their offensive opportunities down the middle. He was also a key component on set pieces, often generating offense by being the first to get a head on the ball. Crotty appeared in and started 16 games and posted 17 shots in 1,388 minutes.

As a Sophomore (2014)
Crotty did not appear in any fixtures during the 2014 season, as he was recovering from injury.

As a Freshman (2013)
Early in the season, Crotty saw time in four games up front as a forward before transitioing to the Big Red's back line versus Colgate on Oct. 15.  He played in 10 total games in 2013, starting nine,  taking three shots with one on goal. His six-foot-seven frame was an asset to Cornell's defensive efforts down the stretch.

Before Cornell
Crotty, a 6’ 6” defender, played for Nomads SC in the U.S. Development Academy for the past two seasons, serving as team captain both years. A stalwart in the back for the club, he has started in 49 of 51 games the past two seasons. Crotty played three years of high school soccer at Granite Hills, serving as a captain for both the 2011 and 2012 seasons and was named Second Team All-League in 2011. In 2012, he was named Defender of the Year.

Personal
Liam Joseph Crotty is the son of William and Cheryl Crotty. He has two younger sisters, Sealan and Caoilinn, and he is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
