Biography

At Cornell
After not playing a single minute in his first season, Haigh impressed the staff enough to start in all 16 games of the last two seasons. He took over the position of left back early in 1999 and made it his own, being named Ivy League Player of the Week in October. He added more offense to his game last season, and he scored his first goal in a home loss to Syracuse. He has made the left back position his own, and he should be a steady, consistent force there again this season. At 6-3, Haigh is very difficult to beat, both on the ground and in the air. He also makes good passes and, along with Hoban, will be counted on to serve as a team leader.

At Belmont Hill
Haigh earned four letters as a defender on the soccer team and earned all-league accolades as a senior at the Belmont Hill School. He was named the team's most valuable player on both the soccer and baseball teams as a senior.

Personal
Alexander N. Haigh is the son of George Haigh and Nancy Dalrymple and has a younger sister. Born: 9-27-78.
