Biography

As a Senior (2014)
The lone returning starter from a defense that set a program record for goals allowed (11) a season ago, the Big Red did not miss a beat in 2014 largely due to Chodas' play. The team tied last year's mark with 11 goals allowed, while it set a new program single-season record with 11 shutouts on the year. The senior also played an integral role on the offensive end as the primary taker of set-piece opportunities. He posted a career high five assists, which was also a career high in points, in 2014. His best game came against Buffalo when he recorded a trio of assists in the Big Red’s 5-0 victory. Chodas goes down as the Big Red's all-time leader in minutes played (6,057) and is tied for the all-time leader in starts (65). He was named First Team All-Ivy at the conclusion of the season.

As a Junior (2013)
Chodas was an integral part of the Big Red's defensive corps in 2013 but was also dangerous offensively, often using his speed and composure to carry the ball into the attacking third and generate scoring chances. He finished with one goal and two assists on the season. His goal - the game winner against St. Joseph's on Sept. 21 - helped him earn Ivy League Player of the Week honors. Both his assists set up game-tying goals for the Big Red. He was named to the All-Ivy Honorable Mention Team at season's end.

As a Sophomore (2012)
Chodas scored his first career goal against Binghamton as a sophomore, a goal that proved to be a game-winner. But Chodas is best known for his stifling defense in the right back position, a place where he helped hold opponents to just 13 goals in 17 games this season. Chodas started all 17 games for the Big Red and was a crucial part of the back line.

As a Freshman (2011)
Chodas was a mainstay of the Cornell defense in his freshman year. He was one of five players on the team to start in all 16 games, and he racked up nearly 1,500 minutes of playing time as the team's right back. Chodas got his first career point in an important Ivy League game against Brown on Oct. 22, crossing a ball to Stephen Reisert inside the penalty box for the goal. Chodas was part of a defense that allowed just 13 goals in 16 games.

Before Cornell
Chodas attended Flintridge Preparatory School and played soccer with LAFC Chelsea/Cosmos West of the US Soccer Development Academy. He was a two-year starter with LAFC and was a developmental player for one season. He also played baseball and golf while at Flintridge Preparatory School.

Personal
Peter James Chodas is the son of Paul and Janis Chodas and has an older brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
