[quote]Peter has done a tremendous job since transferring to Cornell from the University of Rochester. His mentality and courage under pressure make him a vital player in our program. He was very good for us this past fall and again during the spring. I expect him to continue to challenge David Mahoney for the starting job this season.[quote]

At Cornell
Francis posted 32 shutout minutes against Hartwick in his only appearance of the 2003 season and continues to make the goalkeeping position one of the Big Red[apos]s top strengths. He has served as a more than capable backup in each of the past two seasons and is an important member of the squad.

At University of Rochester and Pittsford-Sutherland
Francis saw action in seven games as a freshman at the University of Rochester in 2001. He posted a 0.64 goals against average and an .846 save percentage. Francis earned three letters as a goalkeeper for the Pittsford-Sutherland HS team. As a senior, he was named the league and team MVP, after leading his squad to the league championship. Francis also was named to the All-Greater Rochester first team and was a fourth-team all-state selection.

Personal
Peter Andrew Francis is the son of Charles and Anne Francis. An economics major in Cornell[apos]s College of Arts and Sciences, he has an older sister and an older brother.
