At Cornell
Mooney, who rejoined the team for his senior year after sitting out the 2006 season, saw time in 12 contests in 2007, making five starts. He picked up a pair of assists on the year, tallying one against Dartmouth on Nov. 3 and then picking up another on Nov. 17 at Penn in the season finale. His first career start came in the 4-1 victory over IUPUI in the second game of the University of Kentucky Nike Soccer Classic on Sept. 2. A versatile player, Mooney saw significant minutes as a sophomore, making seven appearances off the bench for the Big Red. He played in two contests as a freshman in 2004. 

At Macdonell Collegiate
Mooney started three of his four years at Macdonell and served as co-captain his junior and senior seasons. In 2003, he helped the team win the provincial championship and was named to the tournament’s all-star team. Mooney also played for the Manitoba Provincial select team, the silver medalist at the 2004 Western Canada Games, and his club team, Lucania, won the Manitoba Soccer Association Cup championship in each of his final three seasons.

Personal
Sean Paul Mooney is the son of Anthony and Alexis Mooney and has two older brothers. He is enrolled in Cornell’s College of Engineering.
