Biography
As a junior (2017-18)
• Posted a 6-13 record, with all victories coming at primarily position at No. 7.
• Defeated an opponent from Franklin & Marshall in four games to clinch the team's 5-4 victory on Jan. 20.
As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Team's leader in winning percentage among regulars for a second straight year, going an even 8-8 while steadily moving up the final five spots in the order.
• Won Ivy League matches against Brown and Princeton, having also staved off an opponent from Drexel to win in five sets and give the Big Red one of its two points on the day.
• Later helped the Big Red get off to a strong start at the Hoehn Cup with a clean three-set victory against an opponent from Navy in the quarterfinals.
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Posted the team's best winning percentage (.833) among frequent competitors with a 10-2 record while competing primarily from the Nos. 7 & 8 positions.
• Ten victories also ranked third on the team overall and ended his season on a nine-match winning streak.
• Two of those wins came in five sets against opponents from Franklin & Marshall and George Washington.
• Was 4-1 in Ivy League play with wins against opponents from Yale, Columbia, Princeton and Penn.
Prior to Cornell
• Joined the Big Red after four years of competition at Delbarton, where he competed from the No. 1 position and served as captain in both his junior and senior seasons.
• Was ranked nationally by US Squash as high as seventh in BU17 and 23rd in BU19.
• A two-time US Squash Scholar Athlete Award winner, a National Merit Commended Student and named to Delbarton's Headmaster's List.
Personal
• Alex Jung is the son of Myung and Yunmi Jung, and he has one brother.
• Uncle and cousin both attended Cornell.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
