As a senior (2018-19)

• Competed exclusively at No. 1 position for second straight year, posting a 7-11 record.
• Named to 2018-19 Academic All-Ivy League for winter sports.
• One of three finalists for College Squash Association's Skillman Award, which is given annually to the senior who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship during his entire college career.
• Named CSA Scholar-Athlete for second straight year.
• Started season with three-match winning streak, including four-game victory over opponent from Virginia on Dec. 1.
• Won season's only five-game match, staving off opponent from Franklin & Marshall on Jan. 26.
• Won two matches at CSA Individual National Championships, advancing as far as the semifinals in the North bracket of the Molloy Cup.
• Served as team co-captain alongside classmate Perry Hanson.
 

As a junior (2017-18)

• Anchored the top of the Big Red order with a 7-12 record from the No. 1 position.
• Named most valuable player at team's postseason banquet.
• Earned a three-game win to break a 3-all tie in the Big Red's upset victory Jan. 31 at Navy.
• Rallied from two down for a five-game victory over an opponent from Brown on Feb. 3.
• One of team's tri-captains.
• CSA Scholar Athlete.
 

As a sophomore (2016-17)

• Tied for the team lead in victories with a 9-10 record from the top third of the order.
• Made his first appearance at the CSA National Individual Championships, advancing to the semifinals of the Molloy East bracket and reaching a final national individual ranking of 29th.
• Started the season with his only three appearances at the No. 1 position at the Cornell Round Robin, including a come-from-behind victory in five sets against an opponent from Williams in the opener.
• Emerged as the Big Red's top performer in Ivy League matches, where he posted a 4-3 record on the strength of wins against opponents from Yale, Brown, Dartmouth and Princeton.
• Also had one of Cornell's two points against Drexel on Jan. 21.
• Provided two victories among three matches at the Hoehn Cup, started by a four-set victory against Navy that completed a second-rotation sweep and clinched the match.
 

As a freshman (2015-16)

• Posted a 7-9 record with all but one match coming from the middle third of the order.
• Most frequently competed at the No. 5 position, where he was 6-2.
• Was particularly strong down the stretch, ending his season on a six-match winning streak.
• Two of those victories went to five sets after Muran's respective opponents against Middlebury and George Washington won the first set in the first two rounds of the Hoehn Cup.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Ranked as high as 12th in the nation in the BU19 and BU17 age group.
• Selected to the US Squash Regional Squad in 2013.
• Served as captain of the Friends Academy squash team in 2014 and 2015, helping lead the team to high school nationals both years while also competing on the school's tennis team.
• Elected to the Cum Laude Society and earned National Merit Scholar Commendation.
• Four-time US Squash Scholar-Athlete.
 

Personal

• Andrew Christopher Muran is the son of J. Christopher Muran and Elisa Ventur Muran.
• Father competed in both squash and tennis at Hamilton.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
