Biography

Senior Season — 2016-17
Jones was tied for the team lead in victories, posting a 9-10 record from his spot in the middle third of the order and shared the team's Most Valuable Player honors with Perry Hanson. He started the season strong with five victories in his first six matches, concluded by rallies to win in five sets against opponents from Brown and Hobart. Jones went on to have a successful Hoehn Cup weekend, winning his first two matches against Navy and Princeton — the latter a rally from two down to win in five to avenge an earlier loss to his counterpart from the Tigers. That effort earned him the team's Best Match Award after the season, and he was also tabbed as the program's Most Improved Player.

Junior Season — 2015-16
Jones appeared in six matches and posted a 4-2 record, including a five-set win in Ivy League play against an opponent from Brown on Jan. 10. Jones ended his season with a three-set victory from the No. 5 spot against an opponent from Hobart on Feb. 14.

Sophomore Season — 2014-15
Jones worked his way into 13 matches from the bottom four positions in the order, posting a 7-6 record. His first career Ivy League victory came on Jan. 10, when he defeated Brown's Alex Demeulenaere in four sets at the No. 9 spot. Jones then won two of his three matches at the season-ending Hoehn Cup, both coming in victories against George Washington and Drexel.

Freshman Season — 2013-14
Jones won his first collegiate match, topping Hobart's Arthur Martella, 11-7, 11-5, 11-5, from the No. 8 position in a non-league match on Feb. 7.

Prior to Cornell
Jones competed for four years at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. He served as the team captain in 2012-13, when he was named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Squash Association First Team. He was named to the All-MASA Second Team in 2011-12.
