Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Competed exclusively at No. 2 position for a second straight year, posting a 7-11 record.
• Had a pair of three-game victories in Ivy League play, topping opponents from Brown and Dartmouth..
• Won two of three matches at Hoehn Cup, helping the Big Red reach the final with victories over foes from Franklin & Marshall and Dartmouth.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Competed exclusively at No. 2 position, ranking second on team in victories with a 9-9 record.
• Won three matches at CSA Individual National Championships, finishing second in the East bracket of the Molloy Cup.
• Tied for team lead in Ivy League victories with three, defeating opponents from Brown and Yale before ending regular season with a five-game victory over foe from Princeton.
• Won two of three matches at Hoehn Cup in victories over Western Ontario and Franklin & Marshall.
Prior to Cornell
• Competing out of New York Squash, earned a national No. 1 ranking in BU19.
• Held a world ranking of 354th at the time of arrival on East Hill.
• Runner-up at 2017 Dutch U19 Junior Open, and advanced to quarterfinals of US Junior U19 Open and British Junior U19 Open the following winter.
• Competed for two seasons at Saint Ann's School, earning US Squash All-America honors in 2016-17 and serving as captain senior year.
Personal
• Charles Thayer Culhane is the son of Stephen Culhane and Susannah Drake, and he has one brother and one sister.
• Grandmother, Jenney Curran, is an alumnae of the Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
