Biography
Senior Season — 2016-17
Flannery was unable to compete in any matches due to injury.
Junior Season — 2015-16
Flannery posted a level record of 8-8 on the season, primarily appearing at the No. 6 position after six early-season contests in the top third of the order. He won all three of is matches that went to five sets, including Ivy League tilts against opponents from Brown and Dartmouth. He cruised to three-set victories in the Big Red's quarterfinal and semifinal victories over Middlebury and George Washington, respectively, at the Hoehn Cup. After the season, Flannery was named a College Squash Association Scholar Athlete. He was also named a co-captain for the 2016-17 season at the team's postseason banquet.
Sophomore Season — 2014-15
Flannery was 6-7 from the middle of the Big Red order, competing anywhere from the No. 4 to the No. 8 position. He won his only two appearances at the No. 8 spot, defeating opponents from George Washington and Dartmouth in the Hoehn Cup. Flannery also swept a pair of Ivy League matches against Brown and Yale from Jan. 10-11, rallying to defeat the Bulldogs' Joseph Roberts in five sets.
Freshman Season — 2013-14
Flannery appeared highest in the order among all of Cornell's newcomers, appearing in 16 of the squad's 17 matches throughout the season. He was 2-14 overall, most frequently appear in the No. 4 position. His first collegiate victory came in four games against Western Onatario's Adam Engel on Nov. 24. Flannery then won his only appearance at the No. 2 spot, taking down Hobart's Beau Orchard in three games on Feb. 7. He finished the season ranked 59th in the country by the College Squash Association.
Prior to Cornell
Flannery joins the Big Red from powerhouse Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, Pa. He helped the program capture its last three of four consecutive high school national championships, co-captaining the 2012-13 squad.
Personal
Kevin Douglas Flannery is the son of Richard and Ann Flannery, and he has an older sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
