Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Moved up five positions in the order to compete regularly on showcase courts, posting a 3-14 record from the No. 3 position.
• Selected as team's most improved player for the year.
• Recorded an Ivy League victory by rallying from two games down to win in five against an opponent from Brown on Jan. 12.
• Helped Cornell to an upset win over top-seeded Dartmouth in the Hoehn Cup semifinals on Feb. 29, winning in five games.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Ranked third on team in victories with 8-8 record from bottom four positions in order, primarily competing at No. 8.
• Book ended Ivy League season with three-game victories against opponents from Columbia on Dec. 2 and Princeton on Feb. 10.
• Joined Nicholas Göth Errington as only Cornellians to win all three matches at Hoehn Cup, downing opponents from St. Lawrence, Western Ontario and Franklin & Marshall to end season on four-match winning streak.
• Won lone five-game match, outlasting opponent from Franklin & Marshall on Jan. 26.
Prior to Cornell
• Competing out of Cincinnati Squash, achieved national rankings in the top 10 in BU13 (2012), BU15 (2014) and BU17 (2016).
• Four-time US Squash Scholar Athlete.
Personal
• Nikhil Arjunan Iyer is the son of Karthik Iyer and Chandrika Kasturi, and he has one brother.
• Great uncle is a Cornell alumnus.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Life Sciences.
