As a senior (2015-16)
• Swam the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 100 fly (48.27), good for an NCAA B cut time.
• Was 10th at the Ivy League Championship in the 200 fly with an NCAA B cut time (1:47.73).
• Had the team’s fastest time of the season in the 200 butterfly.
• Earned the team’s Spirit Award at the postseason banquet.
As a junior (2014-15)
• Placed 14th overall in the 200 fly at the Ivy League Championship.
• Also scored in the 100 fly.
• Posted the team’s second-fastest time in the 200 fly and the third-fastest in the 100 fly.
• Won the 400 IM at Colgate with a time of 4:16.23
• Made his first appearance of the season at the Bomber Invitational, placing third in the 200 IM and seventh in the 400 IM.
As a sophomore (2013-14)
• St. John had a strong sophomore season, matching or bettering his primary events.
• He made the consolation final at the Ivy Championship meet in the 200 butterfly, scoring valuable team points.
• St. John is a dedicated athlete who is fully committed to improving.
• He was a recipient of the team’s hardest worker award this season.
As a freshman (2012-13)
• St. John had a breakout freshman year in 2012 with huge improvements in both butterfly events, posting the fastest 100 and 200 fly times of the season from the Big Red.
• He shows great potential moving forward with his collegiate swimming career.
Prior to Cornell
• A four-year letter winner at Georgetown Preparatory School, St. John was an all-area and all-metro selection in the 200 IM in his final two seasons.
• St. John served as team captain as a senior and was part of two metro team championships and a runner-up squad.
• He won an individual title in the 200 IM in his final season.
• He was a club swimmer for the Curl-Burke Swim Club, helping the team to a national team title in 2011 and a junior national runner-up finish in 2012.
• St. John finished 19th at the NCSA junior nationals in the 200 fly.
Personal
• Carl Austin St. John is the son of Austin St. John and Patricia Bowditch and has a younger sister.
• His cousin, Kristen Towne, was an All-Ivy softball player for the Big Red.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
