As a senior (2016-17)
• Swam lifetime bests in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 back at the Ivy League Championship.
• Competed in all seven regular season meets, including taking third in the 100 back in a dual meet win over St. Bonaventure.
• Was runner-up in the 100 free and third in the 100 back at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.
As a junior (2015-16)
• Competed in seven dual meets for the Big Red.
• Swam the back, free and fly sprint strokes during the season.
• Placed second at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational in the 100 free.
• Was elected as one of the team’s tri-captains for the 2016-17 campaign.
As a sophomore (2014-15)
• Competed in seven dual meets and the Bomber Invitational.
• Ranked among the top 10 on the team in both the 500 and 100 free events.
• Was part of the winning 400 free relay team against Brown, placing third overall in the 100 free as well.
• Part of the 200 free relay team at the Bomber Invitational.
As a freshman (2013-14)
• Zurmuhl added depth to the sprint squad this season and was a member of many dual meet relays.
• With added strength from lifting, he has a lot of potential to improve.
Prior to Cornell
• Zurmuhl was a two-year team captain and a three-year all-district pick at Pennridge HS.
• He earned all-state accolades as a senior and earned four varsity letters.
• He also captained the Central Bucks club swim team.
• In addition to swimming, Zurmuhl was a four-year competitor in water polo, helping the team to a league title and serving as team captain twice.
Personal
• David Pearson Zurmuhl is the son of Martin and Elaine Zurmuhl and has an older and younger sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
