Biography

• Second Team All-Ivy, 200-medley relay (2017-18)

As a senior (2019-20)

• Raced in all nine meets as a senior, including the Ivy League Championships.
• Made the A Final of the 100-backstroke at Ivies and finished fourth overall for the second-straight year with a time of 47.40.
• His preliminary time in the 100-backstroke (47.22) at the conference meet marked a personal-best, ranks third all-time in Cornell history, and made the NCAA B Cut.
• Also scored points in the 50-freestyle and 200-backstroke at Ivies, making the C Final of both events.
• Finished 18th in the 50-freestyle (20.46) and 20th in the 200-backstroke in a season-best 1:48.42.
• Swam on a trio of Big Red relays at Ivies, including the school record-breaking 400-freestyle relay team that placed fifth in 2:55.89.
• Helped his other two relay teams to Cornell all-time top-10 marks at the conference meet, as the 200-freestyle relay finished fourth in 1:19.51 (No. 2 all-time) and the 200-medley relay placed third
in 1:26.64 (No. 3 all-time).
• Made the A Final of four events at the Zippy Invitational, finishing among the top-five in the 50-freestyle, 100-backstroke, and 100-butterfly (48.92), the latter of which he recorded a personal-best.
• Also guided the 200-medley relay, 400-medley relay, and 200-freestyle relay teams to victories and Cornell all-time top-10 marks at the Zippy Invitational.
• Won the 100-backstroke in an Ivy League tri-meet against Penn and Princeton.
• Finished first in the 100-butterfly in Cornell’s victory over Binghamton.

As a junior (2018-19)

• Finished fourth in the 100 back at the Ivy League Championship, with an NCAA B cut time of 47.34 (No. 2 all-time at Cornell).
• Also scored in the 50 free, taking 16th overall.
• Swam on four relays that posted top 10 Cornell times at the Ivy meet, including lead-off legs of the 200 and 400 medleys, as well as the third leg of the 200 and 400 free relays.
• Captured the Ithaca Bomber Invitational title in the 100 back and finished fifth overall in the 200 back.
• Took first in the 100 back in dual meets against Brown and Bryant.
• Was second in the 100 back vs. Yale.

As a sophomore (2017-18)

• Earned second-team All-Ivy honors in the 200 medley relay, helping the Big Red to a second-place finish in 1:26.00 - shaving 0.44 off the previous school record.
• Already the school record holder in the 100 back, he placed fifth at the Ivy League Championship in an NCAA B time of 47.81
• Led off the 400 medley relay with the second-fastest time in school history (3:12.24), missing the record by .02.
• Finished 20th in the 200 back with a top 10 all-time Cornell swim in the event (1:48.61).
• Also scored in the 100 fly (18th, 49.07) and as part of the 800 free relay, with his split leading off with the seventh-fastest 200 free time in school history (1:39.31) - and posting the fourth-fastest relay time ever at Cornell (6:34.73).
• Was part of seven dual meet winning relay squads.
• Captured first in the 100 back against Brown.
• Won the 100 back at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational and finished on the podium in the 200 back (second) and the 100 butterfly (third).

As a freshman (2016-17)

• Emerged as the team's top backstroker, reaching the podium at the Ivy League Championships in both the 100 and 200 back.
• Had an NCAA B cut time of 47.63 in the 100 back, good for fourth overall at the Ivy meet, a time that sits second-best ever at Cornell.
• Swam the lead-off leg of the school record-setting 200 medley relay that took third at Ivies, one of three squads that also set a pool record.
• Placed seventh overall in the 200, posting the sixth-fastest time in school history (1:46.52).
• Part of a 400 medley relay that took third overall with the second-fastest time in school history (3:12.34).
• Also scored in the 100 fly.
• Won five events during the season, including the 50 and 100 back at the Akron Zippy Invitational.

Prior to Cornell

• Curtis was a four-year state qualifier and finalist while swimming at Centerville HS.
• A five-time school record holder, he won the Ohio state championship in the 100 back as a senior.
• Was a 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier in the 100 back, finishing 129th in the country.
• Was the 2016 NCSA junior national champion in the 50 back.
• Four-time NISCA All-American and a 13-time GWOC champion.

Personal

• Dylan Patrick Curtis is the son of Pat Curtis and Robyn LeFevre and has an older sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
