As a senior (2015-16)
• Swam every freestyle event from the 50 to the mile as a senior in 2016.
• Anchored the 800 free relay team that posted the seventh-fastest time in school history at the 2016 Ivy League Championship.
• Had top three finishes at Ithaca’s Bomber Invitational, taking second in the 200 free and third in both the 500 and 1,650 free races.
• Won the 100 free and finished second in the 1,000 free in a dual meet win over Colgate.
• Also won the 100 free against Binghamton.
As a junior (2014-15)
• Posted the team’s second-fastest time of the season in the 200 free and the third-fastest in both the 500 and 1650 free
• Member of the team that competed at the Ivy League championship, swimming the 200, 500 and 1650 free.
• Was also a member of the 800 free team that scored at the Ivy meet.
• Had three top two finishes during the dual meet season, including a first place in the 100 free against Colgate.
As a sophomore (2013-14)
• Schnaars once again added depth to the distance squad.
• Schnaars added depth to the distance group in his rookie season and scored points at the Ivy League meet in the 1000 freestyle.
• Schnaars also won the 500 free at the Ithaca College Invitational meet in December, swimming a personal-best time.
Prior to Cornell
• Schnaars was a league champion in the 500 free, helping Tesoro HS to a league team crown.
• He was also a four-year letter winner.
• While competing for the Mission Viejo Nadadores club team, Schnaars placed ninth at the U-18 Open Water 10K nationals.
• He was part of the 2011 junior national team that placed second overall.
Personal
• George Phillip Shnaars is the son of Paul and Susan Schnaars.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
