At Cornell
Jake Sangren capped off a successful frosh campaign by scoring in the B final at the Ivy championships in the 200 backstroke last year. He also had the team's best time in the 100 backstroke in 2009-10 with a 49.41, which was good enough for third all-time in the Big Red record books. Sangren won the 100 backstroke event for the Big Red vs. Yale and also at the meet vs. Columbia and Brown.
At Lansing
A six-year swimmer at Lansing Schools, Sangren served as captain of his team. In 2007 he won All-American honors in the 200 yard medley relay and All-American consideration in the 100 yard backstroke. And, in 2008, Sangren was an All-American in the 100-yard backstroke.
Personal
Jake Sangren is the son of Steve and Susie Sangren, and he has one older sister. Sangren is enrolled in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
