Biography
As a junior (2019-20)
• Competed in six meets for the Big Red during junior campaign.
• Won the B Final of the 200-breaststroke at the Zippy Invitational, placing ninth overall in a personal-best 2:03.71.
• Won the C Final of the 100-breastroke at the Zippy Invite, finishing 17th in 56.87 and notching another personal-best.
• Also made the C Final of the 200-IM at the Zippy Invitational, placing 19th with a time of 1:52.94.
• Secured his third personal-best of the Zippy Invitational in the 100-butterfly, posting a time of 51.72.
• Recorded a pair of top-three finishes in the 100-breaststroke in Cornell’s dual meet victories over St. Bonaventure and Binghamton.
• Finished fourth in the 200-breaststroke against St. Bonaventure and Brown.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Placed fourth in the 100 breast against Columbia.
• Finished sixth in the 100 fly against St. Bonaventure.
• Competed in the Bomber/Ithaca Winter Invitational, swimming in the 200 and 400 medley relays, the 200 breast and the 200 IM races.
• Achieved nine personal best times during the year.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Competed in three dual meets, seeing action in the 100 and 200 breast and 200 IM lineups.
• Took sixth in the 200 breast against Yale and was seventh in the 100 breast vs. Columbia.
• Also swam in four events at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational.
Prior to Cornell
• Earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors while competing at New Trier HS.
• Was a member of the school’s Leadership Council as a senior.
• Earned a spot on the national team from 2015-17 while swimming for Nasa Wildcat Aquatics.
Personal
• Jakob T. Kaminsky is the son of Lawrence and Yvonne Kaminsky and has an older sister.
• His sister Isa is enrolled at Cornell, while both of his grandparents attended as well.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
