Biography
As a junior (2019-20)
• Competed in Ivy League duals against Columbia, Yale, and Brown as a junior.
• Amassed a season-best 213.60 points in the 1-meter against Columbia.
• Tallied a season-best 174.60 points in the 3-meter against Yale.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Scored in the 3-meter competition at the Ivy League Championship, finishing 16th overall.
• Also competed in the 1-meter dive.
• Took second in the 3-meter dive in a dual meet win at Bryant.
• Finished third in both diving events against Yale.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Was an Ivy scorer in both diving events.
• Earned five top-three finishes in dual meets, including a runner-up in the 1-meter against MIT and in the 3-meter against St. Bonaventure.
• Selected for the team's Hardest Worker Award at the postseason banquet.
Prior to Cornell
• Potts was a three-time all-state selection at Berkeley Preparatory School.
• Earned three district and regional titles and finished in the top 10 in the state four times, including second as a senior.
• Was an AAU All-American as a junior.
• Named a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
• Team captain as a junior and senior.
Personal
• Jesse Diego Potts is the son of Mike Potts and Susana Gonzalez-Cortes and has an older sister.
• His sister Nicole was a diver at the University of Florida.
• He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
