Biography
At CornellReynolds was a strong contributor thought the season and was a member of the Teagle pool record-breaking 200 medley relay, which was set in the dual meet against Brown. He will be a part of a strong senior group in 2015. After a breakout swim in December of 2012 in winning the 400 IM at the Ithaca College Invitational, Reynolds continued on a solid path. He won the 200 fly against Yale and scored team points in that same event at the 2013 Ivy Championship meet with a career-best time. Reynolds also scored in the 500 free after another best time. He had a solid freshman season, contributing in dual meets in both the 1000 and 500 freestyle. At his first Ivy League Championship meet, he scored points in both the 1000 and the 1650.
Prior to CornellReynolds was a member of the 2011 Georgia state championship team at the Wesleyan School. He captured the state's 500 free title and helped set a state record in the 4x100 relay, while also finishing second in the state in the 200 free and placing third in the 500 free. He was the team's MVP as a sophomore and the Rookie of the Year as a freshman. A two-year USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, he swam for the Dynamo Swim Club. Reynolds was part the 2010 Short Course junior national team champion and was the 2010 US Southern Zone swimming championship champion in the 1500 free. He also competed in water polo.
PersonalMichael Thomas Reynolds is the son of Tom and Mary Reynolds and has two older sisters. His parents, uncle, two aunts and maternal grandparents all attended Cornell. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
